Digital Placemaking - Creating New Cultural Activation Spaces for Brands, Entertainment, and Education
Tuesday December 10, 2024 9:45am - 10:30am PST
In this panel discussion led by Bob Bonniol from MODE, designers from TAIT and MODE discuss projects ranging from the recently opened Pier 57 with Google in NYC, Currents at the former Niagara Power Station, and The Avenues in North Riyadh Master Planning Phase with Melk, Pentagram, Benoy Architects, and giga-developer Majid Al-Fatim. The panel will focus on recent developments with AI, active sensing systems, media control, and other technologies that are combining to make placemaking dynamic and malleable, as well as the cultural, and programmatic advances of repurposing urban spaces to bring new life and activation that drives gathering, traffic, purpose, and joy! We'll dive deep into how generative and machine-learning based AI is combining with show control systems to make every experience of a space unique, and personalized, while also delivering incredible capacity to measure experience, and convert audience to community.
